Our Solar Service Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair of residential solar PV and battery systems.
This role focuses on ensuring system performance, identifying and resolving faults, and maintaining high-quality standards across all installed systems. It is a technical, field-based position requiring strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
Fault Finding & Diagnostics
• Identify and diagnose faults across solar PV and battery systems
• Analyse system performance and production data
• Troubleshoot electrical and communication issues
Repairs & Warranty Work
• Carry out warranty replacements (inverters, panels, batteries, components)
• Complete repairs in line with manufacturer and compliance standards
• Liaise with suppliers for warranty claims where required
System Performance & Maintenance
• Conduct system health checks and production verification
• Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance
• Ensure systems are operating at optimal efficiency
Quality Assurance & Audits
• Complete internal audits of installed systems
• Identify installation defects or compliance issues
• Provide feedback to installation teams to improve quality
Customer Interaction
• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients on-site
• Explain faults, resolutions, and system performance
• Maintain a high standard of customer service
Skills & Experience Required
• Experience in solar PV installation and/or servicing
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capability
• Understanding of solar inverters, monitoring platforms, and battery systems
• Electrical licence (preferred but not essential depending on role structure)
• Ability to read and interpret system designs and electrical schematics
