We are seeking an experienced and innovative Engineering Technologist to join our cabinetry manufacturing team. This role is ideal for a technically minded professional who can apply engineering principles and technology to improve our product design and production processes, enhance product quality, and ensure compliance with Australian standards.
Major Responsibilities and Duties
· Research, develop, and apply new engineering technologies in cabinetry manufacturing, including automation, CNC machining, and CAD/CAM systems.
· Test, analyse and improve existing engineering technologies and production processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
· Evaluate and test new materials, adhesives, and finishes to ensure durability, safety, and compliance with Australian Standards.
· Implement quality assurance and control systems to monitor and improve production output.
· Collaborate with design engineers, production teams, and suppliers to optimise manufacturing workflows.
· Assist in resolution of various engineering related issues
· Review and prepare technical documentation, process reports, and compliance records for projects.
· Conduct safety assessments and inspections to ensure compliance with WHS regulations and relevant cabinetry manufacturing standards.
· Provide technical support and training to staff on new machinery, software, and production technologies.
· Investigate and solve engineering and manufacturing problems in cabinetry production lines.
· Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, such as lean manufacturing and sustainability projects.
· Conduct on-going inspections to ensure the engineering technologies are implemented in compliance with standards and regulations
Skills and Requirements
· Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
· Experience with CNC machines, CAD/CAM software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.), and automation systems.
· At least 3 years of relevant experience
· Strong knowledge of materials technology (wood, laminates, adhesives, and hardware).
· Understanding of relevant manufacturing standards, WHS compliance, and quality systems (ISO 9001).
· Excellent problem-solving and process improvement skills.
· Strong communication and leadership skills for cross-functional collaboration and team work.
