About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker, you will be providing person-centred active support to people living with disability on the Central Coast.
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is supporting people with disability in shared housing or in their own home, providing various supports including personal care and daily living assistance.
You can expect to work across a 24/7 roster.
Key Responsibilities
Support clients with mental health challenges, complex needs, and high behaviours of concern
Passionate about promoting active, healthy living
Assist with personal care tasks (e.g. bathing, dressing) and manual handling
Availability for short-notice shifts and sleepovers is essential
Implement person-centred active support and follow behaviour support plans
Advocate for client choice while ensuring safety and compliance
Log daily care and changes in needs to ensure informed, coordinated support
Skills & Experience
Experience with high behaviours of concern is required
Resilience and confidence in managing complex situations
An unrestricted New South Wales driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software on a mobile and desktop
A current First Aid Certificate, which includes the course HLTAID003 or HLTAID011
Successful candidates will be required to clear all state-based probity checks; including but not limited to a National Criminal History Record Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
