Your opportunity
Part-Time, 2 days per week (Preferably Monday + Thursday)
As our Maintenance Officer based at our Rooty Hill Retirement Village, you'll undertake general maintenance and repairs to ensure our village facilities remain safe, functional, and welcoming for residents. You'll complete routine preventative tasks as well as responsive maintenance, contributing to a high standard of upkeep across buildings, gardens, and equipment.
With integrity and practical skills, you will:
* Complete general repairs including door and lock repairs, painting, minor plumbing, maintaining bin room cleanliness, assisting residents with appliances and "handyman" work
* Undertake preventative maintenance to maintain assets at agreed service levels
* Keep tools and equipment in safe working condition
* Maintain accurate documentation of work completed and safety procedures followed
* Represent Anglicare Sydney with professionalism and respect, upholding our values when interacting with residents, contractors, and colleagues
What you'll bring
You are a hands-on professional who enjoys practical tasks and takes pride in maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and presentation. You work methodically, stay calm under pressure, and interact with empathy and respect.
You will also need:
* A basic understanding of maintenance, tools, and materials (a certificate in maintenance or a related discipline is preferred)
* A current NSW Driver's Licence
* Sound computer skills – Word, Excel, and Outlook
* A practical, safety-conscious approach and willingness to follow procedures
* A commitment to upholding Anglicare Sydney's values of integrity, justice, compassion, and excellence
* Ideally, you'll also bring experience working in maintenance roles within residential, aged care, or community settings.
