As a Surface Water Engineer with at least 8 years' experience, you'll join our Surface Water and Flooding team where you'll contribute to industry‐leading projects focused on flood resilience, hydrology, hydraulics, stormwater design and climate change adaptation. You'll help deliver innovative, sustainable water solutions using the latest modelling tools, technologies and design approaches.
This role can be based in Melbourne or Sydney, with opportunities to work across a wide portfolio of national and international projects.
What You'll Do
* Deliver surface water assessments, hydrological and hydraulic models (1D/2D) and stormwater designs for waste, mining, renewable energy, industrial and infrastructure projects across Australia and abroad.
* Lead and manage multidisciplinary projects from early planning through to detailed design, ensuring quality, technical excellence and strong client engagement.
* Prepare and review high‐quality technical reports, environmental assessments and detailed design packages for stormwater and water management infrastructure.
* Develop innovative approaches in flood resilience, climate adaptation and sustainable water management to enhance project outcomes.
* Support and guide junior engineers within a collaborative, high‐performing team.
About You
* Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering; postgraduate studies in water resources welcomed.
* 8+ years' experience in water resources or surface water engineering, with proven success in delivering high‐quality designs and studies.
* Strong background in stormwater management, hydrology and hydraulic modelling (e.g. RORB, WBMN, XP‐RAFTS, TUFLOW, HEC‐RAS, XP‐SWMM/STORM, DRAINS).
* Experience delivering flooding, drainage, dam‐break, erosion and sediment control or water quality assessments across a variety of sectors.
* Proficiency in GIS/CAD tools (ArcGIS, QGIS, MapInfo, AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
* Excellent communication skills and experience working in consulting environments with multidisciplinary teams.
* CPEng or equivalent professional certification is an advantage.
