About The OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting new opportunity for a Technical Writer to join our Hunter Class Frigate program (HCFP) on a permanent full-time basis. This position can be offered in Melbourne, VIC; Adelaide, SA; or Cairns, QLD.
Working across all aspects of Maritime Technical Publications, you will be responsible for driving innovative technical publication authoring and writing solutions and managing your technical writing activities in accordance with the relevant project procedures and work instructions to achieve project technical, schedule, and cost goals. You will work with a team of Tech Pub Authors, Illustrators, and Multimedia experts.

Key responsibilities include:
1. Produce technical publications ensuring all project requirements, including safety and regulatory requirements, are met.
2. Undertake technical writing requirements, define the technical writing and authoring requirements, and participate in system design and requirement reviews.
3. Develop technical documentation in accordance with appropriate standards.
4. Contribute towards continuous development activities as well as project engineering policies and strategies.
5. Manage and provide guidance to peers when required.
About YOU
* Diploma or formal qualification in Technical Writing or equivalent practical experience.
* Demonstrated experience in Technical Writing / Authoring.
* Effective communication skills at various stakeholder levels to discuss and present business requirements.
* Proficient with authoring software tools and MS applications.
* Experience leading teams of technical authors is beneficial.
* Understanding of S1000D is highly desirable.
* Experience in producing Maritime Technical Publications is highly desirable.
