Overview

The Power Quality (PQ) division at Eaton Electrical provides power management solutions including AC/DC uninterruptable power supplies (UPS's), surge protective devices, power distribution units (PDU's), remote monitoring, software, power factor correction, airflow management, rack enclosures and services, and we strive for continued success in leveraging technical innovation to develop next‐generation solutions.
We are looking to hire a Senior Application Engineer to engineer critical power solutions that meet customer requirements using Eaton and selected third‐party products. The successful candidate will work closely with bid engineers, product managers, and sales managers to ensure the product we deliver is cost effective and meets the customer performance specification, quality standard, and lead time requirement.
Key Duties
- Work with the Bid Team, Project Team, Sales Team, Consultants and End Users to understand the customer's requirement for major projects.
- Prepare AutoCAD drawing submissions, engineering calculations, and resolve technical issues.
- BOM and Item Creation for local ETO manufacture.
- Provide engineering interface with Eaton overseas factory for ETO systems.
- Prepare or modify technical documentation and drawings for submission to the customer for sign off and manufacture. An eye for detail and accuracy with numbers is also primary.
- Provide technical support to local and overseas manufacturing of PQ systems.
- Create mechanical and electrical drawings to support post-sales project delivery.
- Coordinate, supervise and conduct factory acceptance tests.
- Provide technical support to sales, bid and project teams on project solutions.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in critical power products and systems such as AC/DC UPS or power systems engineering.
- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering mandatory.
- Preferably a registered engineer in Queensland.
- Skilled in AutoCAD drawing.
- Good understanding of ModBus, CAN Bus etc is preferred but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence key stakeholders.
