Legal Adviser
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support and advice to the General Counsel's office.
This is a fixed-term, full-time opportunity to work with a high-performing and passionate team in the Victorian Public Service. We are seeking a skilled and experienced legal professional to join our team and contribute to the delivery of legal services on constitutional, administrative, and public law issues.
Responsibilities may include:
* Providing solutions-based legal and policy advice, both written and oral, on issues relevant to government, ministers, and the department.
* Managing complex and sensitive matters (both litigation and advisory) for various clients.
* Undertaking legal research and analysis on complex legal matters with outstanding statutory interpretation skills.
* Preparing legal documentation and draft reports, briefs, and correspondence as required.
Preferred qualifications include experience providing legal advice in relation to public or administrative law matters, or in civil or criminal litigation. Key requirements include admission, or eligibility to be admitted, to practice as a legal practitioner in Victoria.
