About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Metal Fabricator and Welder to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high quality standards in the production of structural steel frames.
* The role involves reading and interpreting project plans, blueprints and other written instructions and diagrams to perform tasks.
* The Metal Fabricator and Welder will ascertain correct weld types for use based on project needs.
* The position requires field installation of welds, including duct work, light fixtures, vents, fans, metal sheeting and other parts.
* The candidate must coordinate with field labour crew for efficient installations.
Key Responsibilities:
* To read and comprehend construction drawings and specifications.
* To mark up construction drawings and specifications with as-built status.
* To manage welding work and ensure compliance to all specifications to perform defect work.
* To safely operate various manual and automated welding equipment for welding work.
Requirements:
* A trade qualification.
* At least 1 year of proven experience working in a Metal Fabricator/Welder position.
* High level attention to detail.
* Proficiency in time management and prioritisation of tasks.
