Role Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team. This role involves working with children and their families to support participation in daily activities, development of functional skills, and achievement of NDIS goals across home, school, and community settings.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct comprehensive paediatric assessments (developmental, sensory, functional, and environmental)
* Develop and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to each child's needs
* Deliver evidence-based interventions for:
o Fine and gross motor skills
o Sensory processing
o Self-care and ADLs (activities of daily living)
o Emotional regulation and behaviour
* Provide therapy in clinic, home, school, and community environments
* Monitor progress and adjust intervention plans accordingly
NDIS & Documentation
* Prepare high-quality clinical reports, including:
o Functional capacity assessments
o Progress reports
o Assistive technology recommendations
* Align therapy goals with NDIS plans and outcomes
* Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
* Work collaboratively with families, carers, educators, and support coordinators
* Liaise with multidisciplinary teams (physiotherapists, speech pathologists, psychologists)
* Provide education and training to parents and caregivers
Equipment & Assistive Technology
* Assess and recommend appropriate assistive devices and equipment
* Support trials and implementation of therapy aids and environmental modifications
Qualifications & Requirements
* Bachelor or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
* Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
* Valid Working With Children Check (WWCC)
* National Police Check
* Current driver's licence and access to a vehicle
* Strong clinical reasoning and assessment skills
* Excellent communication and report‐writing skills
* Experience working in paediatrics (NDIS preferred)
* Knowledge of sensory integration, neurodevelopmental disorders, and autism spectrum conditions
* Experience with assistive technology and home modifications
* Training in evidence‐based approaches (e.g., DIR/Floortime, CO‐OP, sensory integration)
