Overview
Swinburne University of Technology is offering a fully funded 3-year PhD scholarship in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. You'll be part of a leading research team tackling one of today's most important challenges: creating innovative, sustainable, and high-performance materials for tomorrow's infrastructure. This position is part of the ARC Industrial Transformation Research Hub and involves working with world-class academics and industry experts to translate lab discoveries into real-world, commercial-scale applications.
Responsibilities
* Reimagine waste materials as valuable resources
* Design and test sustainable structural elements
* Help translate advanced lab discoveries into real, commercial-scale applications
About You
* Hands-on experience with experimental testing of materials
* Skills in material preparation, fabrication, and prototyping
* Experience in 3D modelling (CAD) and computer simulation
* Strong knowledge of mechanics of materials (stress, strain, deformation)
* Ability to write clear technical reports and communicate ideas effectively
* A collaborative mindset, with the enthusiasm to work in a supportive team environment
Qualifications
Masters degree or Bachelor (Honour) degree in Civil Engineering, Construction, Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science.
