Job Title:
LOGISTICS TECHNICIAN - 2ND SHIFT (SATURDAY - TUESDAY)
Responsibilities:
* Ensure the safe handling and securing of items with or without equipment.
* Support flight vehicle transport by performing tasks such as:
o Maintenance management of flight hardware transport equipment.
o Procurement of consumables following minimum/maximum criteria.
o General maintenance of mechanical components on transport equipment.
* Collaborate with other technicians to manage transport processes and conduct general maintenance of all hardware, adhering to corrosion prevention programs.
* Support operations for flight vehicles.
* Safely load, secure, and transport equipment, packages, and inventory items.
* Aid in managing transport equipment and materials needed for operational success.
* Responsible for the safe loading/unloading of equipment/items as required.
* Receive, stock, and issue various parts, materials, and hardware to support site operations via manual or VLM (vertical lift module) use.
* Store parts and materials in bins, drawers, and racks, identifying parts and stored locations.
* Perform picking functions to create necessary kits of parts, materials, and hardware as required, ensuring all parts are available and accounted for in the kit.
* Conduct routine cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy, shelf life, and stock rotation.
* Verify all material received for conformity with accompanying paperwork, checking for damage, correct part numbers, quantity, and revisions.
* Determine shipping methods, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates while maintaining accountable records.
* Insert items into containers using spacers, fillers, and protective padding.
* Route and deliver items to appropriate departments.
* Inspect outgoing shipments to ensure they meet specifications and work order intent.
* Use the electronic MRP system to route parts and components to the proper departments.
* Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure an efficient and effective work environment.
Requirements:
* High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
* At least 2 years of experience in inventory control, warehousing (shipping & receiving), material handling/transport, or receiving inspection.
* Experience moving, hauling, or pulling materials via forklift/SkyTrak, heavy equipment, tractors, trailers, or cranes.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
* 5+ years of forklift operations experience.
* Class A commercial driver's license (CDL).
* Familiarity with material requirements planning (MRP) or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and functions.
* Experience within the aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, or electronic fields.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* Proven ability to handle ill-defined problems or processes and drive positive outcomes.
* Self-starter attitude, energy, and effective communication skills across multiple cross-functional disciplines.
* Working knowledge of hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical systems.
* Rigging experience highly desired.
* Understanding of transport and inventory processes.
* Fragile item packaging experience.
* Heavy machinery operation experience.
* Ability to read and identify items based on blueprints or drawings.
* Knowledge of high-pressure systems and hazardous materials handling.
Additional Requirements:
* Exposed to extreme outdoor environments (heat, cold, rain).
* Physical effort including standing, lifting, and carrying light to moderately heavy materials or equipment.
* Lifting heavy objects up to 25lbs unassisted required.
* Valid driver's license.
* Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to fumes, odors, and noise.
* Up to 10% travel to other SpaceX locations required for this role.
* Availability for overtime and non-nominal shifts due to varying site operational needs; flexibility required.
* Standard hours for this shift: Saturday through Tuesday, 1:00 PM - 1:30 AM.
