Role DescriptionAs Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal leadership role at Pullman Cairns International, partnering closely with the General Manager and Executive Leadership Team to drive strong financial performance, governance, and commercial outcomes across the hotel.
You will have end-to-end responsibility for the hotel’s financial operations, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all financial reporting for Accor and ownership stakeholders. This includes oversight of budgeting, forecasting, payroll, statutory compliance, and financial controls, while providing insightful analysis to support strategic and operational decision-making.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to an experienced hotel finance professional who combines technical excellence with commercial acumen and a collaborative leadership style. You will actively support department heads with financial insight, strengthen systems and processes, and drive initiatives that enhance profitability and operational efficiency.
Key ResponsibilitiesPartner with the General Manager and hotel leadership team to support financial strategy, performance, and decision-makingDeliver accurate and timely weekly, monthly, and annual financial reporting to Accor and ownership groupsLead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning processesOversee payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with legislative requirementsProvide financial guidance on Management Agreements, Owners Corporation matters, and HMA complianceDrive continuous improvement across financial systems, controls, policies, and reporting processesSupport department heads with financial analysis, reporting, and commercial insights to improve profitabilityEnsure compliance with Accor financial policies, WH&S obligations, and all relevant statutory and legislative requirements
QualificationsTertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related disciplineCA or CPA qualificationMinimum of 5 years’ experience as a Financial Controller, ideally within a hotel or hospitality environmentStrong knowledge of accounting standards, compliance obligations, and statutory reportingProficiency in accounting and payroll systems; experience with Zambion, PurchasePlus, and SunSystems is highly regardedSound understanding of taxation, superannuation, long service leave, and National Employment StandardsHigh attention to detail, strong commercial mindset, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levelsWillingness to undergo a State Police Check as part of the recruitment process
