**Your new company**
An interesting and exciting opportunity has arisen within a privately owned organisation with large and specialised Town Planning Program across multiple influential developments in the ACT. This organisation prides itself on their culture and unique working environment. The Town Planner responsible for working with the development team and obtaining environmental approvals and monitoring compliance with all laws regulating the client.
**Your new role**
Specialising across three main areas consisting of Masterplan, Environmental Assessments & Major Development Plans, the role will ensure that all planning reports meet legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in obtaining planning approvals for the property and aviation business/building approvals
- Assist in planning the economic development of the company
- Preparation of reports to government and other stakeholders
- Assist in project managing external consultants Attend meetings and consultations with government and community groups
- Work on various environmental issues across airport and other subsidiary businesses
- Any other adhoc duties as directed by the Senior Management team
**What you'll need to succeed**
- Knowledge & understanding of town planning & urban design, recreation & social planning, land development, project management, strategic analysis & interpretation & research & documentation
- Demonstrated experience in the assessment of rezoning, contributions planning, Development Control Plan amendments & Voluntary Planning Agreements
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and meet tight timeframes
- Degree in Town Planning or related field such as Economic, Architecture, Environmental Science, Geography
- Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
