The Role We’re seeking to engage a Database Administrator for an 18-month fixed term contract to be based out of our Brisbane office. In this role you'll be responsible for providing support and managing SMEC’s database environment supporting SMEC’s core business applications which use MS SQL. This position is also responsible for controlling and effectively monitoring systems use and content in a timely implementation of data integrity and backup services. Further, we are ideally looking for advanced demonstratable skills in database optimization. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide database administration and manage the testing, training and production database environment; Effectively deliver application server administration; Provide application deployment and support for core business applications. Advise and administer advanced database optimization initiatives. Suitable applicants will have: Experience managing production SQL servers within a corporate environment; Experience in windows scripting including batch script, VBS and PowerShell to automate process and tasks; Database development including writing complex SQL scripts, reporting writing and ETL process development; Basic knowledge of C# programming is essential; Experience in ERP implementation is highly regarded.
