About The Role

Band 6 – $99,846 – $108,835 per annum (plus super)

Permanent Full Time

Council is seeking a highly organised and proactive Construction Supervisor to provide onsite supervision of capital improvement projects and maintenance works. The role supports the delivery of capital and maintenance programmes by monitoring contractor activities and ensuring works are carried out in accordance with contract requirements. This includes overseeing compliance with OH&S and risk management practices, tracking budgets and funding, monitoring quality standards, timelines and resourcing, and assisting with issue identification and resolution as required.

You will contribute to project reporting, progress tracking and coordination with internal stakeholders and contractors to help ensure projects are completed to a high standard and within agreed timeframes. This position suits someone with a practical, methodical approach who is comfortable working onsite, following established processes and supporting the delivery of consistent, high‐quality outcomes.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the following:

* A relevant tertiary qualification (degree or diploma) in Works Supervision, Engineering or an equivalent discipline, with relevant experience underpinned by a sound knowledge of construction practices, OH&S and risk management.
* Good knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, Codes of Practice, regulations and safety requirements in relation to road works, including the Road Management Act.
* A positive "can‐do" approach that incorporates professionalism, ethical standards and integrity.
* Sound understanding of contract administration and financial and budget management systems.
* The capability to effectively manage time, establish priorities and achieve business outcomes despite conflicting pressures, combined with knowledge of and familiarity with the principles and practices of budgeting and relevant accounting and financial procedures.
* Highly effective interpersonal skills, incorporating verbal and written communication, intermediate to advanced PC literacy (including MS Office applications), a strategic and operational perspective, advocacy and facilitation skills and excellent customer service.
