About the Role
Reporting to the Program Director – Complex Systems Engineering, your key focus will be on providing systems engineering services, managing client accounts, supporting business development and project leadership on interesting and challenging defence and regulatory related projects. You will lead specific engineering projects to deliver required outcomes and liaise with a range of stakeholders including client teams and external suppliers.
The role has a focus on building and nurturing productive client relationships, delivering projects as well as shaping opportunities and business development pursuits.
As a senior member of the team, you'll also have the opportunity to mentor and coach more junior engineers - building the next generation of Shoal's systems engineering capability.
About you
To be successful you will have:
* Significant experience in navigating and applying complex regulatory requirements
* Experience in developing and tailoring business and engineering processes
* Proven experience in managing engineering teams and projects
* Highly developed stakeholder engagement and communications skills including presenting outcomes of work to large audiences
* The ability to shape scopes of work and the initiative to pursue business development opportunities
* Experience in managing program and technical risk across projects
* Extensive understanding of the design development process and associated configuration management methods in a defence environment
* The ability to work to tight time schedules to ensure deliverables are met
* A Bachelor of Engineering in a relevant discipline
* Professional Engineer accreditation, or eligibility for Professional Engineer accreditation with Engineers Australia (EA), e.g. Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or equivalent.
While not essential, the following will be highly regarded:
* Experience navigating Nuclear Safety regulations
* Experience in infrastructure projects
* Experience in developing Engineering, Quality and/or Information Management Systems
* Experience in writing tender documentation against Defence RFQTSs / ASDEFCON tenders
* CSEP accreditation with the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE)
* Experience with DOORS/DOORS NG for requirements management
Special requirements:
* Applicants are required to be Australian Citizens and hold a current NV1 Australian Defence Security Clearance.
* International export control regulations are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
* Applicants must be located in or willing to relocate to Adelaide.
