About the role
This is a 6-month, fixed-term, full-time position working 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 8.00 am to 4.00 pm) and will be based at Natural Disasters Office – Nowra. The advertised salary is based on the grade of the position, comprising of 4 steps within the range shown. The starting salary is at Step 1 within the grade. Progression through the salary steps shall be based upon the achievement of performance objectives relating to the position. Fixed term/temporary staff are ineligible to apply for permanent positions advertised as internal only. Duties
Reporting directly to the Senior Project Manager (Natural Disasters), the focus of this position is to:
4. Represent the Manager in administrative functions as required, such as participating on procurement panels, monitoring key performance objectives, coordinating WHS audit program.
5. Research matters requested by Unit and the Manager relating to performance of the business or improvement initiatives. This will include liaising with external providers to provide solutions through EOI and/ or tender process.
6. Monitoring supply contract term dates and liaise with responsible Manager for the continuance of contracts.
7. Critically review business management systems with the objective of improved service delivery and performance.
8. Assist in the development and implementation of any operational or management initiatives as required by the Manager and Section Managers (including review of procedures, information, and workflows).
9. Act as the liaison with the Finance and Information Technology Departments to achieve the Sections objectives, improvement initiatives and day to day operations.
10. Participate in quarterly budget reviews with senior staff and finance representative and provide commentary and written reports on the sections budget performance.
11. Assist with submissions for grant funding and acquittals for Natural Disaster Funding, including preparing data and liaising with agencies.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:
12. Degree in Accounting, Business, Commerce or equivalent
13. 5 years’ experience in finance related role.
14. Class C Driver’s License
15. Proof of Australian residency or citizenship, or authority to work in Australia (visa)
