The Senior Human Resources (HR) Consultant is responsible for the provision of advice and support to the region in relation to a broad range of contemporary HR management issues, activities and processes; contributing to the effective management and development of the regional workforce.
The role provides a high level of support to the regional management team in delivering organisational reform outcomes and ensuring that local regional HR practices are conducted in accordance with relevant legislation and QAS policy; contributing to the overall future direction of the QAS and ensuring quality, timely and appropriate pre-hospital care and transport services are provided to the Queensland community within the region.

Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high quality HR consultancy services to regional managers and staff by providing expert advice on a wide range of issues, including performance management; recruitment and selection; establishment management; employee relations; employment conditions; payroll; staff absence management; equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination practices; reporting; and organisational change initiatives (including case management).
* Develop and implement contemporary, best practice HR management systems and processes, in accordance with QAS strategic priorities and business objectives.
* Ensure the region maintains an appropriately resourced and skilled workforce through the analysis of workforce data and trends, in consultation with key stakeholders.
* Review and analyse monthly HR reports to identify trends and provide options and solutions for HR matters including workforce planning and absence management.
* Coordinate local regional recruitment and selection processes in consultation with relevant internal and external stakeholders and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and directives.
* Assist and support the Head Office HR Branch with coordination activities regarding centralised recruitment campaigns.
* Provide guidance to regional management and staff in relation to recruitment and selection practices, approval processes and documentation.
* Maintain a thorough knowledge of current HR legislation, awards, certified agreements, directives, policies and procedures and provide accurate and timely advice on employee relations matters.
* Assist with the coordination of investigations and reviews into a range of employee relations issues and assist with the development and implementation of appropriate strategies for resolution, in consultation with regional management and the HR Branch.
