About the role
We're looking for a Senior Application Engineer with strong expertise in designing and optimising cooling systems for data centres. In this role, you'll work closely with customers, consultants and our sales teams to design technically robust, compliant and commercially competitive solutions.
You'll support a broad range of projects from targeted technical services to large, highly integrated data centre solutions supporting both new builds and live operating environments. This is a hands‐on role where technical depth, commercial acumen and customer engagement come together.
What you'll be doing
* Design, optimise and price data centre cooling and HVAC solutions, ensuring effective thermal management
* Partner with sales teams, customers and consultants to deliver compliant, value‐driven solutions
* Manage multiple projects through the Schneider Electric Customer Project Process
* Ensure solutions meet safety, quality and commercial requirements, including margin and risk management
* Lead and contribute to innovative cooling approaches (e.g. liquid or hybrid cooling solutions)
* Present technical and commercial solutions clearly to customers and internal stakeholders
* Support continuous improvement through lessons learned, reporting and KPI delivery
What we're looking for
* Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering
* 10+ years' experience as an Application or Solutions Engineer
* Great hands‐on experience designing cooling systems for data centres (critical requirement)
* Deep technical knowledge of HVAC, mechanical equipment and thermal management
* Strong commercial capability, including cost modelling, margin and profitability management
* Confident communicator with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and mentor junior engineers
