Junior Hydrogeologist / Field Technician
About the role:
You will be a key member of our Hydrology & Hydrogeology team, working on exciting field projects that contribute to our goal of making sustainability happen. As a Junior Hydrogeologist / Field Technician, you will have the opportunity to work with great people, develop your skills and career, and enjoy the outdoors.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct routine integrated monitoring programs, including groundwater, surface water, soils, and air quality sampling, following SLR procedures and industry best practice.
2. Perform field studies, such as hydrogeological site investigations, drilling programs, monitoring bore installations, and hydraulic testing.
3. Assist in preparing quality factual reports based on field and laboratory data collected for or provided by clients.
4. Liaise with site personnel, suppliers, and laboratory personnel to ensure smooth delivery of field work.
5. Prepare Health and Safety documentation for field work.
Skills and Experience:
You will need:
1. A relevant qualification (Bachelor Degree or higher) in Science or Engineering, specializing in Hydrogeology or a related field.
2. Practical experience in hydrogeology, including groundwater monitoring and sampling data analysis, groundwater bore drilling and construction, data analysis, and report writing.
3. Working knowledge of QLD groundwater legislation and policies, standards, and guidelines.
4. Theoretical and practical knowledge of groundwater data analysis and interpretation.
5. Excellent communication and reporting skills.
6. Ability to travel domestically and remotely to undertake monitoring projects.
7. Manual driver's licence and previous 4WD experience and training are highly desirable.
