**Advanced Trainee - Rehabilitation**
**Mount Druitt Hospital**
**What you'll be doing**
The primary purpose of the position is to provide quality care to patients with rehabilitation needs in a complex clinical environment. Medical Officers will work under an appropriate level of supervision according to their level of competence to evaluate, diagnose, treat and provide consultation to adult patients and will work in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings. This position works alongside CMOs and trainees in geriatric and general medicine as well as JMOs. This position works under the supervision of consultant staff within the Department of Rehabilitation, Aged Care and General Medicine.
The Rehabilitation and Aged Care Department provides adult inpatient and consultation rehabilitation services at Blacktown and Mt Druitt hospitals. The position will be based at the inpatient unit at Mount Druitt Hospital. The trainee will be expected to attend outpatient services at Mount Druitt Hospital and Westmead Hospital.
There are no after hours / on call requirements for this position.

BMDH is accredited for training for most specialties and is networked with Westmead Hospital for Surgical Skills Training, Basic Physician Training, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Emergency Medicine, Intensive Care Medicine, Radiology, Anaesthetics and Mental Health. Highly competitive rotations have also been established for Critical Care, General Registration (for International Medical Graduates), and vocational General Practice. - Qualifications and experience commensurate with the Essential Requirements for the role. Registered AFRM trainee or planning to register as an AFRM trainee within the duration of the term.
- Sufficient clinical experience in order to undertake the clinical duties of the role in a variety of clinical settings and proficiency in basic and advanced life support.
- Advanced ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team in the planning, delivery and coordination of patient care.
