About the role

The role of Lead Electrical Engineering is pivotal in managing a team of electrical professionals, focusing on maintenance improvements, High Voltage assets, resolving operational issues and carrying out asset renewal projects across Council's extensive portfolio of Water & Sewer assets.

Reporting to the Section Manager Maintenance Services, this role will see you take a strategic approach to ensure alignment to strategic, operational and organisational objectives across the Water and Sewer Directorate. This will be achieved through leading asset maintenance teams in order to achieve the desired customer, economic, and environmental outcomes for Council.

This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

* a Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering or related field, combined with ongoing professional development
* extensive contemporary experience in a leadership capacity driving Electrical asset management within a water and/ or utility industry
* comprehensive experience managing Low Voltage and High Voltage assets, including holding High Voltage Responsibilities
* the ability to motivate, lead and support employees and coordinate the activities of a team to achieve outcomes
* knowledge of and experience working in Local Government and Water Industry, including the Drinking Water Guidelines, POEO Act, Safe Work Legislation and Australian Standards for Electrical Equipment, and Local Government Act
* a current class C Drivers Licence
* a valid Construction General Induction Card - NSW SafeWork or equivalent
* a current Confined Space Entry Certificate
* a current Safe Work at Heights Certificate
* a current HV Network Controllers certification (High Voltage Switching Operations; Certificate IV in Electrical Supply Industry - Network Systems or equivalent)

Other important information

* The commencing salary for this position is up to $115.3k per year. Central Coast Council also provides progression opportunities for employees to progress up to the maximum salary of $133.6k on completion of assessment of skills and performance + 3.5% Civil Liability Allowance (in accordance with the Award) + 12% superannuation
* We have a permanent full-time role available.
* This role will be able to access a 9 day fortnight.
* We are able to offer hybrid and flexible working conditions for this role - 2 days from home and 3 days onsite.
* This role is located at the Nexus Business Hub, North Wyong.

A leaseback vehicle is provided in this role for official duties and private use and your choice of vehicle will be provided when one becomes available in accordance with Council's Vehicle Policy. In the meantime, either an alternate pre-used vehicle or a vehicle allowance of $207.31 per week is temporarily applied for this position due to ongoing issues with supply for new vehicles.

Council may create an eligibility list from this recruitment process and may utilise this eligibility list to fill other permanent or temporary vacancies.
