Overview
Take your career to new heights as a full-time, permanent Aviation Advisor. In this role, you will provide specialist advice on aviation operations, conduct comprehensive safety audits, and oversee the delivery of aviation-related projects for our clients. You will serve as the primary point of contact for aviation matters, ensuring alignment with SGS standards while offering guidance grounded in regulatory frameworks and internationally recognised best practices. Location options across Australia are available, with a preference for candidates based on the East Coast.
Key responsibilities
* Planning and conducting aviation audits and assessing operator safety for SGS Aviation clients.
* Providing technical and commercial aviation advice.
* Preparing written audit and project reports with recommendations for the conduct and continuous improvement of client aviation activities.
* Following up and closing out issues raised in the course of duties.
* Maintaining professional contact and effective working relationships with clients.
* Maintaining professional qualifications through company training and participation in SGS Aviation seminars where possible.
* Discharging the administrative duties required for the efficient conduct of the position.
Qualifications
* Airline transport pilot's license (or Aircraft Maintenance Engineer license) with relevant experience and exposure to operational activities.
* Ideally, 15 years' experience in the aviation industry including experience relevant to SGS Aviation's activities.
* Successful completion of full Safety Management System training.
* Auditing experience with at least 10 aviation-related audits conducted within the last 4 years.
* Successful completion of a quality/safety (ISO-approved) lead auditor course.
* Solid understanding of CASA and ICAO regulations.
* Experience auditing aircraft operators (fixed or rotary wing) and inspecting aerodromes and offshore helidecks.
* Valid BOSIET training certificate for offshore travel (required on occasions).
* Holding BARS auditor qualifications/accreditation is highly regarded.
* RPAS (Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems) experience is preferable.
