The Role
As IT Systems Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in the day-to-day operation, optimisation and security of our IT infrastructure. You’ll ensure system stability and performance while supporting users across the business and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Provide responsive IT support through the Service Desk, resolving incidents, troubleshooting hardware/software issues, and escalating when required.
- Administer and manage Microsoft Windows Server, M365, and virtualisation environments, ensuring stability, performance, and compliance.
- Configure, monitor and support networks (Cisco and Fortinet), while maintaining secure, reliable connectivity across all sites.
- Manage system backups, disaster recovery, and data integrity processes to safeguard business continuity.
- Deploy and support hardware and mobile devices across corporate and site locations, delivering both onsite and remote assistance.
- Automate tasks and reporting using tools such as PowerShell and Microsoft Graph API, driving improvements in efficiency, security and reliability.
- Create and maintain IT documentation, knowledge base articles, and asset registers to support consistent and effective operations.
- Contribute to IT projects, vendor management, and technology improvements, while ensuring compliance with company values, policies, and confidentiality obligations.
- Supporting the governance of IT systems in line with company policies and industry standards.
About You
You are a proactive and solutions-focused IT professional with strong technical expertise and a customer-focused mindset. You bring:
- A Diploma/Degree in Computing, Computer Science, or IT, supported by relevant industry certifications (Cisco, VMware, Microsoft).
- At least 5 years’ experience in a similar IT systems engineering or administration role, with proven troubleshooting skills.
- Solid technical expertise across Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Azure/Entra, Intune, VMware, and backup technologies (on-prem and cloud).
- Hands-on experience configuring and maintaining Cisco and Fortinet networking environments.
- Proficiency with remote support tools, along with excellent communication, documentation, and time management skills.
- The ability to multitask in high-pressure environments while adapting to a constantly evolving technology landscape.
