 
        
        Dental Assistant - Dental Receptionist Positions
Prior experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred. However, we will provide full training to the right candidate.
Some experience as a dental assistant is preferred, though candidates with no prior experience will be considered and provided with comprehensive training.
Our ideal candidate will assist our dentists during their treatment, and will also support our other assisting team members with their duties.
Dental Assistant job tasks and responsibilities 
- Communication with patients and staff with empathy and respect
- Sterilization of instruments and maintaining infection control, including cleaning of clerical and clinical areas
- Preparation of patients & surgeries for dental treatment
- Administration, reception, and clerical duties when required
Skills and experience 
- Be willing to learn and adapt and work well in a team
- Have good communication skills and display excellent customer service
- Be fluent in English (speaking and writing)
- Having confidence in computer skills, we use Exact dental practice software
- Be presentable, reliable, and punctual
- Have valuable organizational skills with an eye for detail
- Be happy and have fun at work
About the Dental Receptionist role
To be successful as a Dental Receptionist, you should be able to organize and maintain patient waiting and front desk areas. Ultimately, a top-performing dental receptionist will perform all duties in a manner that ensures the efficient running of the dental practice.
Dental Receptionist job tasks and responsibilities 
- Greeting and welcoming patients to the practice and building a rapport
- Scheduling, rescheduling, or canceling appointments as needed
- Assisting patients to fill out information forms
- Preparing patients' charts and daily schedules for the dental staff
- Updating patient records and documenting recent treatments and procedures
- Scheduling follow-up appointments and providing telephonic reminders
- Communicating with medical insurance providers to determine if patients are required to make co-payments.
- Verifying methods of payment and collecting payments as needed
- Performing general office duties, such as answering telephones, photocopying, filing, and faxing
Minimum requirements for the Dental Receptionist position include a minimum high school diploma or HSC, and certification in office administration, medical administration, or related fields is advantageous. 
- Proven experience working in a dental or medical office
- Minimum 6 months experience required for the Dental Receptionist position
- Sound knowledge of dental terminology is preferred
- Proficient in dental practice management software (Exact) or similar
- Working knowledge of general administrative practices
- Exceptional organisational skills with an eye for detail
- Excellent customer service skills and good telephone etiquette
- Be presentable, reliable, and responsible
Australian work rights are required. Candidates may apply for either the Dental Assistant position, the Dental Receptionist position, or both roles. Candidates may rotate between Dental Assistant and Dental Receptionist roles as needed.
