About the Position

We are excited to welcome a Early Education Program Assistant to Early Education Program Team in Townsville. The Early Education Program (EEP) is a trauma-informed, play-based early learning program that supports the emotional, social, behavioural and developmental needs of children aged 3–5 and their families. In this role, you assist the teacher in delivering the curriculum, supporting developmental goals, collaborating with allied health professionals, and maintaining a safe, engaging learning environment. This is a great opportunity to contribute to the wellbeing of children and families.

* Level 3 SCHCADS Award.
* Salary range: $76,377 - $81,907 + Superannuation.
* Part-time, Government funded, maximum contract opportunity until 31 December 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

* Contribute to a nurturing, play-based learning environment by delivering the Early Years Learning Framework to a small group of children aged 3–
* Foster a calm, supportive space where children feel safe, confident, and ready to explore through a play-based, trauma-informed approach.
* Build warm, trusting relationships with families, walking alongside them to strengthen their children's social, emotional and developmental foundations.
* Partner closely with teachers, assistants, and allied health professionals to provide holistic, coordinated support that meets each child's unique needs.

About You

* Certificate III or above in Early Childhood, Education Support, Community Services, or similar vocational qualification.
* At least two years' experience helping young children engage, learn and thrive in early learning environments.
* A solid understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework and play based learning, and a genuine passion for supporting children in their early years.
* A commitment to inclusive practice, ensuring every child feels valued, supported and able to participate in their own unique way.
* Strong cultural awareness, including confidence working respectfully with families from diverse backgrounds, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
* A willingness to develop a sound understanding of child protection legislation and current reforms to ensure best practice and child safety.
* A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work positively and cohesively within a multidisciplinary team.

Other Requirements

* Eligibility for a Working with Children Check or professional exemption.
* Current driver's licence.
* Legal ability to work in Australia (proof of eligibility required).
