In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for all Austal Darwin Service Centre operations, whilst supported from the Austal Corporate and In Service Support (ISS) group.What's InvolvedConduct workplace inspections and ensure schedule complianceLead HSE incident investigationsConduct audits, risk assessments, and hazard analysisPromote health awareness and workplace health managementAssist in developing procedures and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS)Support business HSE reporting and communicate HSE trendsCoordinate fitness-for-work initiatives, including drug and alcohol testingVehicle Fleet Management, coordinating servicing and maintenanceOperational Equipment Management, such as calibration, testing and tagging managementYou'll NeedConstruction safety induction (White Card)Certificate IV, Diploma, or Degree in Work Health, Safety & Environment (or related field)Strong working knowledge of HSE practices and relevant legislationExperience conducting HSE incident investigations using recognised methodologies (e.g., ICAM)Proven ability to advise and support management on operational HSE mattersExperience conducting management system audits and holding internal auditor trainingIntermediate IT literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteA team-oriented, service-driven approach with excellent relationship-building skillsCurrent Driver's Licence and ability to travel between facilitiesWhy AustalCompetitive compensation and benefits packageProfessional development and training opportunitiesA supportive, inclusive, and dynamic work environmentClear pathways for career advancement within a growing organisationOur global team is guided by a universal set of core values:At Austal, we are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive work setting for everyone.
