Position Profile We are seeking a suitably experienced Nurse to join the Surgical Directorate Clinical Education Team for the role of Staff Development Nurse – Medical Imaging at Perth Children's Hospital. In collaboration with the Nurse Educator, Surgery and the departmental Clinical Nurse Manager, the Staff Development Nurse (Medical Imaging) is responsible for the ongoing assessment of the knowledge and skills of nursing staff in the unit, the planning and implementation of specific education and training programs and the provision of support for the multidisciplinary team of radiologists, allied health professionals and new staff, including orientation and preceptorship.
Key Responsibilities
* Facilitate the development, implementation and evaluation of ongoing comprehensive education and professional development programs to meet the identified learning needs of the department staff.
* Conduct training needs analysis to determine learning needs of staff and plan, prepare and manage required training and development activities.
* Coordinate and facilitate unit-based orientation and in-service programs to enable nurses to attain and sustain competency in clinical performance.
* Evaluate learning outcomes and effectiveness of training and professional development programs.
* Monitor clinical and professional development of staff, address deficits and monitor progress.
About The Department
Based at Perth Children's Hospital, The Medical Imaging Department provides services for children from birth to 16 years, supporting inpatients, outpatients and the Emergency Department. Our services include a comprehensive range of diagnostic imaging and specialised procedures such as interventional radiology, neuroradiology, paediatric cardiac catheterisation, vascular access and routine medical imaging including X-ray and CT. We also perform fluoroscopy, biopsies, cannulation and drain insertions. Our focus is on achieving the highest quality outcomes while ensuring a compassionate, child-friendly experience.
