About Brighte
Our mission is to make consumer energy resources affordable and accessible for everyone. Brighte is building the platform to enable and accelerate the energy transition by making it affordable, easy, and less risky to buy and sell energy equipment. Our founder and CEO, Katherine McConnell, has earned numerous awards including Telstra Businesswoman of the Year 2020, Sustainability Crusader award at B&T's 2023 Women Leading Tech Awards, and has led Brighte to be an AFR Sustainability Leader in banking and finance, winning the inaugural Sustainability Award at the Affies in 2024.
About The Role
As the organisational anchor for the CEO, you will help drive efficiency, clarity, and momentum across priorities. The ideal candidate is a high performer who takes initiative, acts decisively, and thrives in a fast‑paced, ever‑evolving environment. You are energized by ambiguity, excel at anticipating needs, and are trusted to make sound decisions that keep the CEO and business moving forward. Please note this role requires in‑office presence 4‑5 days a week (Monday to Thursday, and on occasion Friday).
* Own and optimise the CEO's time – proactively manage a complex, fast‑moving calendar, resolve conflicts, anticipate shifts in priority, and ensure focus on what matters most.
* Be the central point of leverage – triage requests, manage inbound communications with discretion, and act as a trusted gatekeeper and liaison to senior leaders, partners, and the Board.
* Enable seamless travel and logistics – coordinate complex domestic and international travel end‑to‑end, including detailed travel packs and smooth transitions across time zones.
* Operate at Board and executive level – coordinate Board meetings and materials with the Leadership Team and Company Secretary, including agendas, minutes, and follow‑ups.
* Shape executive communication – draft and manage correspondence, presentations, and briefing materials that reflect the CEO's voice and Brighte's brand.
* Drive strategic execution – own special projects and strategic initiatives, conduct research, prepare briefs, track actions, and follow through to completion.
* Anchor leadership rhythm – design and manage the annual calendar for Leadership Team events, off‑sites, and key moments.
* Provide holistic support – support both professional and personal commitments to ensure the CEO can operate sustainably at pace.
What You'll Bring
* Proven executive‑level experience supporting a CEO or C‑suite leader in a complex, fast‑moving environment (ideally within financial services or regulated businesses).
* Exceptional judgement and autonomy – trusted to make decisions, act on behalf of the CEO when needed, and know when to escalate.
* Mastery of complexity – handle multiple priorities, stakeholders, and deadlines without dropping the ball.
* Strong executive presence and communication skills – confident engaging with board members, senior leaders, and external partners with clarity and discretion.
* Highly organised and detail‑oriented, while never losing sight of the bigger picture or strategic intent.
* Digitally fluent and systems‑minded – comfortable with modern tools (e.g., Microsoft 365, Confluence, Jira, Slack, Zoom, Canva) and quick to adopt new ways of working.
* AI‑curious and productivity‑driven – actively use tools such as ChatGPT to work faster and smarter, and always seek better ways to get things done.
* Uncompromising integrity and discretion – trusted with sensitive information and complex dynamics.
* Comfort with ambiguity and change – stay calm, focused, and effective as priorities shift.
* Proactive and solutions‑oriented – anticipate issues early and resolve them before they become problems.
* Collaborative and low‑ego – work seamlessly across teams and functions, building trust quickly.
What's in it for you?
* Free lunch every Monday – a relaxed gathering to kick off the week.
* Built‑in socials – regular team events, Thursday drinks, games, and table tennis.
* Own a piece of Brighte – eligible employees can participate in our Employee Share Option Plan (ESOP).
* Well‑stocked kitchen – fresh fruit, snacks, beer on tap, and a curated wine selection.
* Ride‑friendly workplace – secure bike storage, end‑of‑trip facilities, showers, towels, and hair dryers.
