ABOUT THE ROLE
This is an exciting time for us, as we are recruiting for a Physical Performance Lead within our Cricket department. This role provides national leadership for physical preparation across Cricket Australia and the broader Australian Cricket system, setting clear direction and standards that enhance player robustness, availability, and long‐term performance.
You will lead two Physical Performance Coaches who support the Australian Women's and Men's Teams, while influencing and guiding a wider network of practitioners across State and Territory Associations to ensure national alignment of people, programs, and practices that meet the evolving physical demands of modern cricket. You will provide senior technical oversight, including complex case management, and support the programming and monitoring of CA‐contracted players when they are off‐tour, and additionally, you will contribute to operational continuity by providing touring backfill for national teams when required.

Reporting to the Head of Performance Services, you'll be responsible for:
* Providing national leadership and direction for physical preparation across Australian Cricket, setting standards and ensuring consistent, evidence‐based practice across the high‐performance system.
* Leading, supporting, and developing the Physical Performance Coaches for the Australian Women's and Men's Teams, ensuring high‐quality programming, monitoring and physical preparation for CA‐contracted players on‐ and off‐tour.
* Oversight of complex case management and injury rehabilitation planning for CA‐contracted and Australian players, ensuring best‐practice return‐to‐performance processes.
* Driving system alignment and collaboration across CA and State/Territory SSSM teams, leading national working groups, seasonal planning, and practitioner development to optimise player availability and readiness.
* Leading the strategic use of athlete monitoring technology and data systems, including Teamworks integration, to inform decision‐making and enhance physical performance outcomes across the national system.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
You will have:
* Extensive experience in elite or professional sport physical preparation leadership
* Relevant tertiary qualifications: Exercise Science, Strength & Conditioning, Sports Science or related discipline
* People leadership experience, including leading specialists and influencing multi‐disciplinary teams
* Strong strategic mindset – able to "look around corners" and plan for future system needs
* Experience with athlete monitoring systems, performance technology and workload management
* Strong stakeholder relationships, collaboration skills and ability to influence without direct authority
* Comfortable managing complex athlete cases and supporting senior performance decision‐making
