The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Team Leader (Environmental Health) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Use advanced environmental health knowledge in promoting and enforcing compliance with public health legislation
- Utilise high level management skills to professionally and operationally lead a team of environmental health officers
- Participate in and contribute to Unit level operational planning
About you
**To be successful in this position you will require**:
- Possession of a tertiary qualification (or equivalent) from a recognised tertiary institution that is accredited by Environmental Health Australia or deemed eligible for appointment by the Queensland Health Environmental Health Officer Appointments Review Committee
- Driver Licence
- Evidence of vaccination and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent full time
- Base salary ranging from $140 767 - $146 883 per annum
About Us
The Gold Coast Public Health Unit consists of a multi-disciplinary team of public health physicians, environmental health officers, public health and immunisation nurses, epidemiologists, health promotion officer, data, program and business support officers who deliver services including communicable disease surveillance and control, environmental health, immunisation, outbreak and incident management, food safety and water quality, public health regulation, research and public health risk assessments.
