Bridge and Structures Engineer – Third Party Works

Company: UGL Regional Linx (UGLRL) – a subsidiary of UGL, headquartered in Orange, NSW.
We provide regional employment across NSW and manage the CRN – Country Regional Network, ensuring safe transport of people and goods.
Job Purpose
Provide engineering support and technical review to the third-party team, ensuring compliance of designs against CRN Standards and collaborating with applicants, internal stakeholders and the Principal Bridge & Structures Engineer.
Key Responsibilities
Review technical content of third-party works applications, development applications and property leases for compliance with technical standards and advise the Principal Engineer.
Undertake engineering calculations and software modelling to assess the rated load of structures and OSOM applications on the CRN network.
Provide advice and input to third-party works officers for approval briefs and licence drafts related to CRN bridges and structures.
Ensure integrity of the CRN Network and properties by minimising impacts with technically sound engineering.
Investigate and inspect irregularities of CRN structures (bridges, culverts, tunnels, water tanks, station platforms, properties) and prepare detailed scope documents.
Assess risks, propose mitigation measures and improve asset performance to meet KPIs.
Work with applicants, designers, utilities and stakeholders to resolve non-compliance issues.
Respond to and resolve third-party applications and queries under the direction of the Principal Engineer.
Participate in review and revision of CRN standards, manuals, specifications and technical notes.
Collaborate with the engineering team to improve processes and quality of engineering outcomes.
Perform all duties in accordance with UGLRL policies, processes, systems, reporting and procedures.
Be available to travel across NSW as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in civil, structural or railway engineering (or equivalent).
Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience as a civil, bridge or structural engineer in the design or construction of civil infrastructure (bridges, wharves, culverts, commercial or residential buildings).
