About the role
With mobilisation now commencing, we are seeking an experienced Senior Supervisor to lead the Earthworks team, overseeing field construction across multiple work areas. You will plan, coordinate and supervise activities to ensure delivery to the highest standard, safely and on time.
Responsibilities
* Supervising bulk earthworks activities across multiple work fronts
* Managing crews, subcontractors and heavy plant on a live dam site
* Leading safety through pre-starts, toolbox talks and site inspections
* Working with engineers to plan, sequence and resource daily works
* Tracking productivity, costs and site records using tablet-based systems
Skills and experience required
* Strong experience supervising earthworks on civil infrastructure projects
* Proven ability to manage multiple crews, plant and subcontractors
* Solid understanding of WHS requirements in high-risk environments
* Ability to read drawings, plans and construction programs
* Confident communicator who can lead diverse site teams
About the project
The Cressbrook Dam Safety Improvement Project is a major dam safety and flood resilience upgrade delivering complex works to critical water infrastructure in the Toowoomba Region. Seymour Whyte, in alliance with SMEC and Toowoomba Regional Council, has been selected to help deliver this flagship project, bringing together construction delivery, engineering expertise and collaborative project leadership on one of Queensland's most significant local government-led dam upgrades.
The scope includes spillway widening, dam crest raising, berm and spillway re-profiling, right-hand wall strengthening, plunge pool widening and deepening, flip bucket extension, instrumentation upgrades and associated enabling works. It is a rare opportunity to join Seymour Whyte on a technically challenging, high-profile project with major civil, structural, hydraulic and dam safety interfaces, and real long-term community impact.
