The Company
BCI Minerals is a values-driven company developing sustainable minerals for the modern world.
We are rapidly progressing the Mardie Salt Operation and Potash Project (Mardie Operation), a tier 1 solar evaporation project that will supply high-purity industrial salt and sulphate of potash (SOP) for more than 60 years.
Mardie will be the largest salt operation in Australia and the third largest globally. With first salt on ship on track to be achieved late next year, BCI Minerals is just at the beginning of its journey to become a key player in a multitude of globally significant sustainable opportunities.
Our values are the foundation of our success. They reflect our commitment to fostering an inclusive, high-performing culture driven by our people's collective efforts and unique strengths. They guide us in achieving our strategic goals and solidify our position as a leader in the industry.
The Role
The Mechanical Operator roles play a key part in developing and operating the Mardie Salt Operations in line with BCI Minerals' strategy and business plan. Reporting to the Operational Maintenance Superintendent, these positions support the Sulphate of Potash (SOP) Project through construction, commissioning and ramp-up, before transitioning into steady-state operations.
The Mechanical Operators are responsible for safely operating and maintaining fixed plant and equipment, carrying out preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance, executing maintenance strategies, completing calibrations, and supporting equipment restarts following shutdowns or trips. Working closely with maintenance, electrical, project and production teams, they help ensure asset integrity, statutory compliance and continuity of production in a challenging operating environment.
About You
We are seeking two mechanically trade-qualified professionals who are safety-focused, proactive and capable of working in both project and operational plant environments, with a strong ability to contribute through construction, commissioning and into long-term operations.
Mechanical trade qualification with relevant post-trade experience, ideally in mining, salt, SOP or coastal environments
Proven experience supporting construction, commissioning and operational plant activities
Strong mechanical aptitude with sound fault-finding and troubleshooting skills, particularly with pumps and fixed plant
Experience with preventative maintenance, asset management and CMMS systems
Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Strong focus on safety, risk assessment and statutory compliance
Clear communication, accurate reporting skills and a continuous improvement mindset
The successful candidate will be required to provide a national police clearance that is not older than 3 months and if site based must hold a WA White Card.
You must have current unrestricted working rights for Australia to be eligible for consideration.

We offer a range of benefits to our employees, including:
