We are seeking a visionary leader to oversee the growth and success of our retail operations in Australia. This exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dynamic Head of Retail to join our company on its journey into physical retail.
Reporting directly to the C-Suite, this senior leadership role is pivotal in shaping the national store network, bringing our brand's online identity to life through immersive, elevated in-store experiences.
As Head of Retail, you will own the physical retail strategy end-to-end, from store rollout and team development, to innovative visual merchandising, operations, and commercial performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the rollout and growth of a national store network – including store design, project management, team recruitment, and grand openings.
* You will be translating our brand into an engaging and immersive retail experience.
* Be the visionary for in-store retail experiences – driving creative, fresh, and on-brand visual merchandising across all locations.
* Champion operational excellence with clear processes around inventory, store-level ordering, and fulfillment (click & collect, ship-from-store).
* Manage and optimise retail P&L, individual store budgets, and performance metrics.
* Build and inspire a values-led, high-performing retail leadership team and culture.
* Closely collaborate with cross-functional teams to align store strategy with digital, marketing, merchandising and supply chain.
* E nsure compliance, safety, and ethical standards across all physical operations.
* E mbed customer insights and feedback into ongoing retail improvement and innovation.
* Maintain a deep understanding of product presentation.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must have:
* A minimum of 8 years of experience in senior retail leadership, preferably with experience launching or scaling store networks in multi-site or national retail environments.
* Experience in the mattress, bedding or home / lifestyle category is highly desirable.
* Strong visual merchandising capability with an eye for creating fresh, engaging, and branded in-store experiences.
* Experience working in fast-paced, digitally led or DTC businesses is advantageous.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, particularly with cross-functional teams.
* A passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences and building strong team cultures.
