About Us
We are a well-established small animal veterinary clinic in the beautiful McLaren Vale region. Our team of 4 veterinarians and 8 nurses and support staff work closely together to provide high-quality care in a positive and respectful workplace.
We pride ourselves on supportive management, low staff turnover, and modern systems including an advanced online booking platform and ezyVet practice software.
Clinic hours:
Monday to Friday 8:30am – 6:00pm
(No weekends, no late nights, no overtime expected)
This full-time role is 38 hours per week across four weekdays.
The specific weekdays for this 4-day position will be discussed during the application process.

About the Role
As our Veterinary Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our clients and their pets and play a key role in keeping the clinic running smoothly.
Daily responsibilities include:
• Welcoming clients and patients with warmth and professionalism
• Managing a busy phone line and appointment scheduling
• Responding to emails and general enquiries
• Processing payments and insurance claims
• Triage of urgent phone calls and directing enquiries appropriately
• Maintaining an organised, calm and efficient front desk
• Supporting the veterinary team with day-to-day clinic operations
• Opportunity to assist with social media if you have skills in this area

About You
We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people as much as animals and wants a long-term role within a supportive team.
Candidates must hold permanent resident status or equivalent Australian work rights.
You will ideally have:
• Experience in reception, front desk or customer service
• Veterinary or medical reception experience highly regarded (not essential)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organisation and attention to detail
• Confidence using computer systems and booking software
• Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment
• Confidence working independently and using initiative
• Compassion when supporting emotional or stressed clients
• A professional attitude and genuine love of animals
• Interest in a long-term career opportunity
