The Role
Clariant Mining Solutions is a trusted global provider of emulsifiers for mining explosives and mineral processing reagents. We focus on creating value by improving performance of our customers' processes through a global network of application and development centres and rapid response to customer requirements. The Application Development Metallurgist is accountable for the evaluation of products for mineral ore flotation to establish commercial advantages for mines, such as grade & recovery improvement or lower chemical cost in support of Business Development initiatives and product life cycle process for existing customers. The position requires occasional domestic travel. The successful applicant would be based out of our Lara manufacturing site and flotation lab.

What are your responsibilities?
- Laboratory applicational testing of developmental products on ore samples obtained from target customers;
- Provide technical support and recommendations to the Mining Solutions Sales and Business Development Team;
- Plan and conduct lab and/or industrial trials or industrial trials at customers' premises;
- Generate documentation and reports with technical solutions;
- Technical support and product recommendations to customers' Metallurgical teams;
- Manage relationship with universities and research institutes through R&D programs;
- Maintain laboratory equipment and handle mineral and liquid waste disposal
Who are we looking for?

- Bachelor of Mineral Processing Engineering, Extractive Metallurgy or related subject;
- Minimum 3 years of experience in flotation laboratory or mine environments;
- Post‐graduate qualifications in mineral processing‐related disciplines desirable.
