The opportunity
The Bureau's Flood Warning Infrastructure Network (FWIN) Program is leading a $236 million Australian Government initiative to improve flood warning infrastructure in Australia's highest flood risk areas over 10 years. This will be done through the acquisition, upgrade and integration of 1600 local government-owned, and some state government-owned rain and river level flood gauges into the Bureau's existing flood warning network across Australia.
In support of this investment, the Bureau's Flood Warning Infrastructure Network (FWIN) Program seeks an experienced Stakeholder Engagement professional to lead staff from across the Bureau's various Groups and Programs to build our reputation as a trusted collaborator and partner in the delivery of flood warning services.
The role will lead dedicated Customer Leads across the Bureau in communication and engagement activities with key government and community stakeholders to inform the delivery of critical flood warning infrastructure and identify and inform of project impacts and sentiment.
Given this is a new function the successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to help grow the Bureau's stakeholder engagement capabilities in support of our flood warning network emergency management partners.
The role reports to the FWIN Manager, Stakeholder Engagement and works closely with other Bureau Groups to ensure alignment with the Bureau Strategy ???????.
Our ideal candidate
The ideal candidate will have a successful track record of building relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive engagement initiatives. You will possess advanced verbal and written communications skills and be confident working across all three levels of government, and senior executives.
You will have strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills, enjoy working directly with people to solve challenges, and be able to prioritise tasks within tight deadlines. The ability to develop an extensive professional network both internal and external to the Bureau will be required.
You will demonstrate the ability to develop a strong understanding of the breadth of the Bureau's flood operations, and its contribution to Australia's national interests and be able to communicate this clearly with key program stakeholders.
You will ensure that the FWIN program along with internal colleagues across Business Solutions, Customer Service and Enterprise Services Groups are aware of and sensitive to local needs, feedback and sentiment.
The successful candidate must be willing to undertake interstate travel when required.
