Medical Oncology Fellow
About the Role
This twelve-month position provides comprehensive clinical and research training under supportive supervision.
Candidates should possess appropriate qualifications and postgraduate experience in oncology, along with a demonstrated commitment to oncology patient care and research activities.
The position will ideally suit candidates who have either fully or partly completed advanced training in medical oncology and hold or will be eligible for specialist registration.
* Clinical responsibilities include participation in oncology clinics four days per week, including fortnightly outreach clinics to Horsham or Stawell.
* Academic responsibilities include participation in regular Journal Club sessions, Mortality and Morbidity meetings, and junior doctor teaching programmes.
Key Responsibilities
* This is a clinical and research-based role. The fellow will be actively involved in clinical trials, participate in all relevant clinical trial unit meetings and activities, and undertake independent research under the supervision of an experienced mentor.
* The oncology unit has a well-established, busy, and dynamic clinical trials unit involved in multiple clinical trials, including early-phase studies.
* The fellow will have the opportunity to gain valuable teaching experience by being involved in undergraduate medical student teaching from the University of Melbourne and Deakin University.
