Acu-Tech Pty Ltd The primary purpose of this position is to produce different types of quality pipe bends by ensuring correct configuration and setting of machineries; completing quality checks; and performing routine machine service and maintenance. Task & responsibilities Responsible for producing different types of high-quality high-density polyethylene pipe bends by: Identifying and preparing appropriate pipe for each work order, considering factors such as length, dimensions, and quality. Setting up machines (hydraulic plastic pipe bender, band saw) required to shape high density polyethylene pipe according to required work order.
Preparing and installing bend hydraulic attachments and other tools to produce different types of pipe bends. Starting, monitoring, and shutting down machines safely aligned with standard production workflow. Conducting quality checks by performing final trims, measurements, and bend angle quality checks to ensure compliance to required product specifications and standards and consistent quality output.
Ensuring all production and quality control documentation is completed accurately and maintained up to date. Performing regular general maintenance and service including thorough cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and replacing and repairing components, and conducting safety checks to minimise the risk of machine breakdowns and optimise productivity. Recording the general servicing activities including any parts used to support accurate maintenance logs and traceability.
Identifying and analysing mechanical and operational issues and carrying out minor repairs in accordance with the machine’s manual. Delivering technical support to operators by guiding them on machine setup, safe operating procedures, and adherence to product quality standards. Assisting in process improvement initiatives, including product trials and enhancements to manufacturing methods.
Collaborate with the Maintenance Team to support other repair requirement as needed. Qualification & experience AQF Certificate III or IV in Polymer Technology, Plastics Processing, or a related trade; or equivalent relevant plastics manufacturing experience Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge with plastic pipe bending machinerie Demonstrate excellent ability to interpret machine parameters, product specifications, and technical documentation. Must be able to read and understand machine manual and product specifications.
Must be able to effectively communicate with all stakeholders.
