Greater Shepparton City Council, situated in the heart of the Goulburn Valley, is the fifth largest provincial centre in Victoria and has a well-developed economy due to its strong agricultural and irrigation base, with major industries related to food processing, manufacturing, transport and health care. The Goulburn Valley is often referred to as 'The Food Bowl of Australia' as around 25% of the total value of Victoria's agricultural production is generated in this area.

Resource Recovery Education Officer
Salary: $78,424.32 per annum

Greater Shepparton City Council is seeking a motivated Resource Recovery Education Officer to support the delivery of waste education, waste minimisation programs and resource recovery initiatives. This role is perfect for someone passionate about sustainability, community engagement and creating positive environmental change.
About the Role
In this role you will help deliver Council’s waste education activities, contribute to strategy implementation and engage with the community, schools and businesses to improve waste and recycling outcomes.
Key Duties
* Educate the community on correct waste and recycling practices
* Support delivery of the Circular Economy Strategy and education programs
* Develop and promote waste minimisation and litter reduction projects
* Maintain accurate waste information on Council’s website
* Build relationships with local businesses to improve waste services
* Prepare reports, presentations, grants and project documentation
* Evaluate marketing campaigns and education initiatives
* Represent Council at relevant stakeholder meetings
About You
You enjoy working with people, have strong communication skills and a genuine interest in waste, recycling and sustainability. You are organised, confident presenting to groups and able to manage competing priorities. Relevant qualifications or experience in waste, environment or community education are highly regarded.
