Library Support Role
The successful candidate will provide high-quality library services to Judges and staff. Key responsibilities include technical and research functions such as purchasing, processing, circulation, ready reference enquiries, and current awareness.
Key Responsibilities:
* Respond effectively to all reference and document requests, assist clients in using legal and social science research tools.
* Index articles for the Family Law Update and assist with compilation.
* Manage library collections, process incoming mail, accession serial materials, file loose-leaf services, maintain and enhance library databases.
* Contribute to improved services and changes to procedures, participate in the Court's performance management program, professional bodies and associations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Tertiary qualifications in Library Science or a related field, with experience preferably within a legal environment.
* Proficiency in using legal and social science reference and research tools via online and print.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, ability to communicate effectively.
* Strong administrative and organisational skills, accuracy, attention to detail.
* Ability to work effectively within a small team, taking initiative, being adaptable and discrete.
* High level of computer literacy, including knowledge of Microsoft office and library management systems.
