A Senior Quantity Surveyor manages the full lifecycle of commercial and financial aspects of construction projects, providing pre‐ and post‐contract services, cost control, tender evaluation, and contract administration.
Key Responsibilities
Key duties involve preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs), managing variations, mitigating risks, negotiating with contractors, and mentoring junior staff.
* Prepare and review cost reports, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow analysis.
* Prepare tender documents, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and detailed cost estimates.
* Perform on‐site measurements, interim and final valuations, and approve contractor payment certificates.
* Manage variations, change orders, claims, and contractual correspondence.
* Identify potential cost risks and implement value engineering to optimize project expenses.
* Mentor and lead a team of Quantity Surveyors and measurement staff.
* Ensure compliance with local building regulations, standards, and company procedures.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.
Experience: 10‐15 years of significant proven experience in construction projects (building, high‐rise towers, and residential) in Qatar/UAE or similar markets.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, PlanSwift, and construction ERP systems.
Soft Skills: Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
