Biostatistician Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Biostatistician to join our Population Health team. The successful candidate will provide high-level biostatistical and data management support to research projects and surveillance programs conducted by the Population Health Research & Epidemiology Unit.
This role offers a unique opportunity to blend day-to-day service support with high-impact research and evaluation across the district. You will apply your statistical expertise to drive routine reporting, inform strategic service planning, and guide health needs assessments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide high-level biostatistical and data management support to research projects and surveillance programs.
* Apply statistical expertise to drive routine reporting, inform strategic service planning, and guide health needs assessments.
Requirements:
* Tertiary level qualifications in biostatistics or relevant tertiary qualifications or extensive experience in biostatistics.
* Experience in advanced statistical methods, including new techniques such as generalized estimating equations, case-crossover analyses, multi-level modeling, etc.
* Experience in the use of routinely collected data (including linked data) in monitoring the health status of a population and in secondary research and evaluation.
* Highly developed skills in the use of at least one statistical software (e.g. R, Python, SAS), including advanced programming abilities.
* Australian C-Class driver's license required.
