More importantly, you will be passionate about achieving sales targets by getting our customers the right books, gift or stationery items for them every time they shop. You will be the sort of person who never wants to stop learning, not only from reading books, but from understanding what the new releases, gifts or stationery are.You will have some great products to promote and sell to our customers from the most extensive range of books, gifts and stationery in Australia. You will also offer our fantastic Booklover Program to every customer so they can enjoy great benefits when shopping with Dymocks. As well as helping our customers find their perfect books, gifts or stationery, you will also be involved in keeping the store fully stocked, working on the registers and assisting in all of the duties involved in running a busy retail store.Reporting to the National Operations Manager, in this role you will:Achieve store sales budgetsAchieve Booklover sign up targetsAchieve add on sales targetsBuild a culture of sales performance within the store driving this culture through your teamEstablish and achieve the profitability and sales goals identified in the annual budgetIdentify new sales opportunitiesProvide ongoing coaching and support to employees on how to best achieve salesCreate effective and cost-efficient rostering for a small team of permanent and casual team membersManage inventory, including stock ordering, returns, and close management of aged stock to achieve balance between sales and service requirements and financial constraintsLead the team by demonstrating and embodying highly developed sales skills and leadership behavioursRecruitment and onboarding of new store employeesUpdate employees regularly on new product knowledge, identifying and acting upon any individual training needsConduct regular store management meetings to provide direction, receive feedback, and maintain a well informed teamProvide training and development opportunities to support achievement of objectives and Store succession planEnsure that contingency plans are in place to manage unplanned interruptions to businessMonitor and maintain company-mandated processes and procedures throughout the storeMaximise the outcomes of national marketing programs, develop and implement local store marketing and events within style and budget settingsMonitor and manage store compliance activities, audit and operational expensesReport to the business on achievements and future initiativesEstablish and maintain consistent service and merchandising standards throughout the storeSkills and Experiences:The successful applicant will have:Store Management experience, ideally in books, stationery, and/or giftingPrevious experience achieving personal KPIs and driving store team to achieve collective KPIs (budget, conversion, ATV, UPT, etc)Demonstrated knowledge of visual merchandising techniquesPassion for and knowledge of our products - our range gets bigger every week!Ability to provide superior levels of service to every customer, every time they shop, and inspire your team to do the sameAble to work quickly, accurately and with attention to detailSelf-motivated and team orientatedStrong communication skillsStrong leadership skillsProficient in using retail systems, Advance Retail highly desirableProficiency in using Kronos Workforce Ready highly desirableAbility to comfortably lift 20kgsThis is a full time role across 5 days per week, with requirements to work on Saturday and occasionally on Sundays when required.
