The mine is committed to a low-carbon future.
In April 2023 the Dugald River Solar Farm began operations, supplying a third of the mine's power, and reducing emissions by 33% and this is just the start of its renewable energy transition.
Dugald River employs around 750 employees and contractors on a mix of fly-in, fly-out and local residential basis.We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and ambitious Mining Engineer to join our team at Dugald River Mine.Reporting to the Senior Mine Planning Engineer, you will aim to ensure production activities are supported with appropriate plans and subsequent reports in alignment with the delivery of development and production targets.
This role will be based on an 8/6 roster, drive in drive out (DIDO) from Cloncurry or Mount Isa or fly in fly out (FIFO) from Townsville or Brisbane.Qualifications, Competencies & KnowledgeTo be successful in this role, you will be a strong performer with the ability to lead through positive actions.
You will have great ability to engage and manage stakeholders at all levels; while having strong Underground mining experience with a practical understanding of underground drainage, power, air, water, ventilation and backfill techniques.Minimum of 2 years underground metalliferous mining experienceTechnical experience, especially in mine scheduling and planning experience, will be well regarded.Practical underground experience will be well regarded.Bachelor Degree in Mining Engineering (Essential).
Queensland Explosives Security Clearance (QESC) (Essential).
Manual Drivers license.In-depth knowledge and understanding of Deswik solutions, Deswik Ops is beneficial.Key responsibilitiesCompletion of appropriate, accurate and timely mine operating plans, designs, schedules and budgets for Dugald River Mine ensuring the requirements of the business are met.Completion of mine designs, including stope design, infrastructure and level planning.Communication with key stakeholders.QAQC to ensure work is delivered in alignment with plan.Support projects undertaken and mining related processes.Provide support for business improvement initiatives.Consistently demonstrate behaviours that align with MMG Values and Code of Conduct.What we offerA competitive salary package.A generous relocation package and local allowances are available if you choose to relocate to the local communities of Cloncurry or Mt Isa.Career Development opportunity working for a Global Organisation.A culture of thinking Safety First.Work with a highly skilled strategic leadership team.On-site accommodation at Dugald River is provided in fully air-conditioned en-suite rooms and includes meal service and room cleaning.
