Overview

The Role: Capital Project Officer belongs to the Planning and Capital Development team in the Finance, Infrastructure and Digital Technology directorate. We have 5 office campuses across the state and this role will be based at our West Leederville office.

This is a full-time fixed term position commencing in February 2026 and concluding February 2027.

This role is primarily responsible for the design, and coordination of approved infrastructure projects. This role provides support to the School Infrastructure Team and the Team Leader School Infrastructure.


Responsibilities

The primary accountabilities of the role include:

* Review and implement the Building Condition Assessment (BCA) program.
* Coordinate the planning, development, and execution of school building maintenance plans.
* Assist in the establishment and on-going review of a panel of maintenance contractors.
* Develop training material for CEWA school staff responsible for supporting ongoing maintenance and upgrades.
* Develop and maintain a database of school facilities data, for management and communication purposes.
* Support schools to ensure appropriate building permits, approvals and certifications are attained.
* Prepare correspondence relating to capital development projects.
* Maintain and update a project information database.
* Where appropriate, attend meetings internally and externally to ensure that any relevant issues relating to infrastructure are identified, reported and actioned, as appropriate.
* Other duties as and when directed by the Team Leader, School Infrastructure

Selection Criteria

A. ESSENTIAL:

1. Commitment to the objectives and ethos of Catholic education.
2. Proven experience to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
3. High level organisational skills and attention to detail.
4. Demonstrated ability to prioritise work, manage multiple tasks concurrently, take initiative and meet deadlines.
5. Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
6. High level interpersonal skills and commitment to providing high quality customer service.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
8. Advanced skill and knowledge in Microsoft Office applications.

B. HIGHLY DESIRABLE:

1. Experience with Power BI
2. A qualification in a relevant field such as project management, construction management or a related discipline.
3. Understanding of building processes and requirements in the educational sector.
