If so, an exciting opportunity exists to join our dynamic Defence team within the Land Explosive Ordnance System Program Office (LEOSPO) as an APS 4 Technician – Explosive Ordnance (EO) Armaments.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys technical work, problem-solving and learning within a supportive, mission-focused engineering environment. You will directly contribute to the sustainment and reliability of critical capability that enables the Australian Defence Force.
In this role, you will undertake a range of technical activities, including:
* Performing explosive ordnance technical tasks in line with agreed priorities and outcomes.
* Exercising assigned technical authorities and complying with relevant Technical Regulatory Authority delegations.
* Conducting investigations and contributing to the development, review and maintenance of technical documentation.
* Applying your developing technical knowledge to identify issues, recommend improvements and implement corrective actions.
* Participating in the scoping, planning and review of technical packages.
* Building and sustaining positive relationships within your team and contributing to a collaborative, high-performing technical environment.
This position will be required to access US export controlled materiel and therefore applicants will be requested to disclose any dual citizenship with another country during the recruitment process. Dual citizens may be subject to further assessment and appointment to this position will be conditional upon approval to access US controlled export material in accordance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

The Land Explosive Ordnance System Program Office (LEOSPO) forms a key component of the Land Branch, which sits within the Systems Division of the Guided Weapons & Explosive Ordnance (GWEO) Group. Our team is made up of various disciplines (including engineering, project management, commercial, logistics, and corporate enabling services). We are primarily located in Penrith, Canberra and Melbourne. LEOSPO manages the acquisition, sustainment and disposal of a large range of guided and non‐guided land explosive ordnance.
