About the Role The Short Term Funding team manages the prudential liquidity requirements associated with ANZ’s AUD balance sheet in addition to managing AUD intraday liquidity, ensuring all AUD payments are funded. The role liaises with ANZ’s offshore balance sheets such as ANZ London, Singapore, and New York to ensure adherence to Group liquidity metrics and requires strong management with these key internal stakeholders. Adhere to all policies associated with the Short Term Funding team covering market risk, governance and compliance. This is a risk management role and objective setting is heavily geared towards meeting these risk requirements. Execution of the Australian Balance Sheet’s liquidity mandates in a cost-effective manner. Work with stakeholders within Markets, Institutional, Aus Retail & FIG to maximise opportunities to leverage the Treasury relationship. Work closely with regulators and relevant industry bodies/committees. The short-term funding team directly contributes to the Bank Bill Swap Rate (BBSW) via daily price making in ANZ NCDs and also the Interbank Overnight Cash Rate (IBOC) through direct trading with other interbank counterparties. Management of: AUD Negotiable Certificate of Deposit portfolio (A$40bn) Non-AUD Commercial Paper portfolio (A$55bn) FX/Cross Currency Swap portfolio (A$50bn) Excess AUD liquidity portfolio invested in repo/FX swaps/intergroup loans/short dated fixed income securities (A$20-30bn) Management of the Exchange Settlement Account (ESA) with the RBA What will you bring? To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following: The ‘must have’ knowledge, skill and experience (KSE) the role requires are: Strong understanding of the following: Australian cash & fixed income market Derivatives and hedging techniques Regulatory requirements around benchmarks in particular BBSW FX markets including trading strategies Excellent people manager skills Strong financial modelling skills Strong use of Bloomberg The ‘good to have’ knowledge, skill and experience (KSE) the role requires are: AFMA certification Knowledge of Australian fixed income market more broadly Existing relationships with large Australian debt investors You’re not expected to have 100% of these skills.
